diffrent factor to consider in purchasing aircondition?

With the heating season slowly ending and we are moving towards the cooling season, how can one decide which cooling system is right for you? If you are faced with replacing an existing air conditioner, or purchasing a new cooling system altogether. What factors should I take into account?

In choosing the right whole home cooling system for your needs, one should consider the following:

Seer rating (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio)
This dictates how much direct energy consumption the home cooling system uses. Like miles to the gallon, the higher the number, the better the fuel economy. In the case of the air conditioner, the less electricity consumption. Today, the minimum S.E.E.R. rating is 13, but go as high as 21 S.E.E.R.

Sound Levels
Depending on the placement of the new outdoor unit, the noise level may be a very important factor to consider. Each home cooling system will have it’s own decibel sound level rating. Today’s maximum sound level is 76decibels, but can go down to as low as 65decibels. Keeping in mind that every 3 decibels is twice the sound intensity

Physical Size
Different air conditioners will have different physical dimensions. Typically the higher the S.E.E.R. rating the larger the dimensions will be. Consider the location and make sure there is enough room to allow the unit to breathe.

Protective Design
Various whole home cooling systems will have different construction. The rather delicate aluminum fin coils can be better protected with heavier gauge metal shrouds and offer a more sturdy design. Going to showrooms to see the differences is a good idea. AireOne has nine locations in Southwestern Ontario that you can visit. Each showroom will have various air condition models for you to compare.
